PETA files Yum shareholder resolution

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which owns 180 shares of stock in KFC parent company Yum Brands Inc., has filed a shareholder resolution calling on the company to produce a report to stockholders about the feasibility of implementing recommendations made by members of the company's animal welfare advisory panel.

Cardinal Health Inc. said Thursday it plans to sell its business that makes or packages medication for pharmaceutical and biotech firms to focus on its health-care provider customers, such as hospitals and pharmacies.

SRI International expands into St. Petersburg

Following months of speculation, the research firm SRI International confirmed it will open SRI-St. Petersburg, a $10 million, 30,000-square-foot marine technology center affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Marine Science and Center for Ocean Technology.

Scripps and Pfizer to work together on uncured diseases
